The natures of Love. Is there a difference in the love of a woman and of a man?

The 3rd in a series of 4 reflections in preparation for the Women’s Retreat this coming Saturday, 15th March. 8.00 am Start.

Father Stan’s reflection explores the nature of love, emphasizing the unique ways men and women express it. He highlights that men often struggle to love without women, as women have a deep ability to connect and create spaces for love to flourish.

At the heart of this reflection is Our Lady, the purest expression of God’s love. Created and shaped by the Holy Spirit, her femininity reveals the depth of God’s heart in a way not found in men. While people naturally desire good and intend well, they often struggle to truly connect with one another. Our Lady bridges this gap, guiding us in loving Jesus—not as occasional admiration but as a constant presence and participation in love.

Together with the Holy Spirit, she helps shape environments where both men and women can foster deep connections—spiritually, socially, and within the Church. This is not just about individual relationships but about creating spaces where love is fully lived. Her presence carries a unique “flavour”—a sensitivity that allows people, especially women, to recognize and appreciate the unseen yet profound presence of love.

Ultimately, Our Lady draws others to her standard, helping them ‘elevate’ their love, express their true intentions, and connect more deeply with Jesus and one another. She leads us into a fuller experience of God’s love, teaching us how to love Christ and be present with Him in all aspects of life.
