October – Month of the Rosary.
The Church has been going through the moment of sorrow which affects many people in different ways. For our personal safety and for the goodness of the Church we unite ourselves to the suffering of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We gain confidence that never was it known that any one who fled to Her protection, implored Her help, and sought Her intercession, was left unaided (St. Bernard ‘The Memorare’.
In the Heart of Mary, the Church is protected from corruption and false teachings as She, the Most Pure, helps us to identify their ugliness yet crushes their father, the serpent, with a bare foot. The Mother of God is in the midst of the rancour of war as the Virgin of Victory, and She entrusted to us a special tool by which we take part in Her defeating spiritual forces so that they have no access to us and the Heart of the Church. This tool is the Rosary.
Our Lady gave it first to St. Dominic (1170-1221) in the conflicts with the Albigensians. In XVI century when the whole Europe was in danger of being taken over by Islam, again the Rosary became a tool to protect our civilisation. It is from the battle of Lepanto when October became the month of Rosary.
As our Christian Faith and culture are in danger today, we need to find ourselves in the garden of Roses composed out out of lots of “Our Father”, “Hail Mary” and “Glory be”. In this garden we are given peace and stability which we pass onto others.
Let us embrace the Rosary, the “Psalter of the Blessed Virgin”, this scriptural prayer, „a compendium of the entire Gospel”, focusing on mysteries of the Incarnation and Redemption in the Heart of the Immaculate Mother.
